What Happens After You Get on the GSA Schedule? Understanding MAS Post-Award Support

Getting your GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) contract awarded is a huge milestone — one that takes strategic planning, preparation, and often, months of waiting. But once you’re “on Schedule,” the journey is far from over. In fact, that’s where the real work begins.

Many companies make the mistake of thinking the hardest part is getting the contract. The truth? Success under the MAS program comes from how well you manage and maintain that contract over time.

What is MAS Post-Award Support?

Post-award support is everything that happens after you receive your GSA Schedule award. It includes contract administration, compliance, updates, and strategic support to help you stay in good standing — and grow your federal sales.

Here's a quick look at what’s included in post-award responsibilities:

  • Modifications (Mods): Need to update pricing? Add new labor categories or products? Change your company address? Every change must go through the GSA modification process — and the rules vary depending on what you’re modifying.

  • TDR or CSP Reporting: Depending on the terms of your contract award, you may be required to submit Transactional Data Reporting (TDR) or provide Commercial Sales Practices (CSP) disclosures. Regardless of the requirement, it’s essential that all reporting is accurate and submitted on time. A thorough understanding of the Price Reduction Clause is critical to maintaining compliance and to ensuring you do not inadvertently overcharge the government, which could result in costly reimbursements.

  • Sales Tracking and Reporting: You are required to report GSA sales quarterly (CSP) or monthly (TDR), and pay the Industrial Funding Fee (IFF). Missing a deadline or misreporting could mean contract cancellation.

  • GSA Advantage and eBuy Updates: Your contract must be accurately listed on GSA Advantage!, and you should be proactive about bidding opportunities on eBuy.

  • Contract Compliance: This includes following pricing policies, staying updated on E-Verify, maintaining compliance with the Trade Agreements Act (TAA), and meeting other key requirements. Keep in mind that noncompliance and lack of sales are the leading reasons GSA contracts are cancelled.
